Fibromyalgia is a term that is used to diagnose individuals who suffer from chronic muscular irritation. Individuals who suffer from fibromyalgia experience very tender muscular points that cause intense pain. There are other symptoms as well that they suffer such as, extreme fatigue, irritable bowl syndrome, headaches, insomnia, and depression. Fibromyalgia can be debilitating to those who suffer from it. The onset of fibromyalgia is often seen in individuals who have gone through an extreme emotional or physical trauma. It appears that those who have been diagnosed with this disease also do not enter into deep sleep cycles and when this happens, the muscles do not have a chance to rest and recover properly. Back pain is increased when a person does not get adequate rest. Individuals who experience this disease may also suffer from other forms of muscle problems such as tendonitis, bursitis, muscle strain, cramping, and spasms.

Along with the many symptoms of fibromyalgia, back pain is often a primary complaint among those who suffer with the disease. Whether the pain is in the upper or lower portion of the back, there is extreme discomfort. Many times, it is impossible to sit or stand for extended periods. Here are some methods of back pain relief for those who suffer from fibromyalgia.

Heat is an exceptional therapy for the majority of muscle aches and pains, and it works especially well for the upper and lower back. Heat works to loosen up the muscles and stimulate circulation, allowing your body to heal itself. Different types of heat therapies include:

Heat wraps: Many heat wraps today are made to wrap around portions of your lower back or any section of your back that is in pain. They can be warmed in a microwave or in a sink of warm water. Many of these wraps are designed so that you can wear them during the night and up to eight hours.

Heating pad: These are great and simple to use. You can place them on the back of your chair or whatever surfaces you may be lying on. They are excellent at targeting specific areas of pain in your back.

Warm baths: Besides being a great stress reliever, they are excellent for relieving back pain associated with fibromyalgia.

Back supports are an excellent tool to help alleviate back pain (upper and lower). They are excellent if you have to sit for extended periods in front of a computer or desk. When purchasing a back support look for one that has a curve that will fit into the lower back region. It should have a high back that will ensure that your neck and shoulders are also in alignment and that it has an adjustable back (this way you can use it with a variety of different chairs).

You may want to consider exercises that are designed to eliminate (or at least minimize) back pain. Back exercises will help to strengthen your back muscles and helping to bring your spine into alignment. Be careful and only do these according to your level of comfort.

Curl up: Curls strengthen the abdominal and lower back muscles.

Upper body extension: These extensions strengthen the muscles in your upper back

Arm-leg Extension: This exercise will help keep your spine in alignment, which will relieve the pressure on your lower back.

Electric stimulation is effective pain relief for those suffering back pain from fibromyalgia. The electric stimulation is used to block the pain receptors that cause the nerves to become irritated. This micro-current stimulates healing to the area of tissue that is injured. It can also be used to charge the muscles to contract. If you want to try this method, find a practitioner who is licensed with this type of therapy treatment. You may want to look into alternative treatments for both your back pain and fibromyalgia. Many therapies available help to relieve muscle soreness while at the same time increasing circulation, which will enhance muscle repair. Always look for a qualified practitioner before beginning any type of alternative therapy treatments. Some other alternative treatments to consider include acupuncture, massage therapy, and hydrotherapy.

There are many forms of treatment available for those who suffer from back pain due to fibromyalgia. Always consult with your medical professional and they can help you on your journey to experiencing less pain in your life.

Fibromyalgia, a debilitating disease that causes serious pain throughout the body’s muscles, joints, tissue and tendons, as well as chronic fatigue, is a disabling disease on its own. The pain that it causes is often severe enough to significantly disrupt people’s lives. Unfortunately, those with fibromyalgia also tend to suffer from additional disorders, such as lupus, cervical and low-back degenerative disease, depression, irritable bowel syndrome or rheumatoid arthritis, among others.

The symptoms of fibromyalgia, coupled with the symptoms of another serious disease, can become absolutely debilitating. It’s not uncommon for those with both fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, for example, to find themselves unable to live a normal life. Eventually, the pain may become so severe that they’re unable to work enough to support themselves, perform simple errands or even household chores. In situations like these, those suffering from the disease might qualify for Social Security Disability benefits.

Fibromyalgia and Social Security Disability:
SSI or SSDI benefits can provide monthly assistance so that the people facing the pain of fibromyalgia and any other disease can concentrate on treatment and pain management without attempting to work.

The first step to win fibromyalgia Social Security Disability benefits is to file an application and apply for SSI or SSDI. The application is extremely thorough and will ask for a full medical history as well as doctor’s records showing the severances of the disability. When people do suffer from both fibromyalgia and another disease, most lawyers and other experts suggest using the other disease as the primary reason for filing, since fibromyalgia is not listed by the SSA. While it’s not impossible to be awarded benefits when the primary disability is not a common SSA listing, the application might be more easily accepted with fewer questions if the applicant files for Social Security Disability under one of the more typical listings.

Consider Contacting a Social Security Disability Lawyer:
Working with a lawyer for Social Security Disability to plan out and organize an application for SSI or SSDI can be extremely beneficial. The expertise that they’ve accumulated by working on hundreds of Social Security Disability cases lets them help others avoid simple mistakes and common errors that would slow down the acceptance process.

Whether the applicant decides to file primarily under fibromyalgia or under an alternate disease like lupus of rheumatoid arthritis, listing all of the symptoms and conditions of all the diseases the applicant suffers from is crucial. The SSA will evaluate the person’s limitations as a whole, so including information about fibromyalgia, even if it wasn’t the primary disability in the application, can only help.

Other Considerations with Fibromyalgia Social Security Disability Claims:
People with fibromyalgia often have a variety of different symptoms that vary from day to day, or might even vary based on the weather or time. Symptoms might include pain throughout the entire body, and especially on tender points such as the back of the head, between shoulder blades, on the front sides of neck, in the upper chest and several others. Additionally, extreme fatigue, numbness and tingling, severe headaches and irritable bowels are also common symptoms of fibromyalgia. If the applicant suffers from any of these symptoms, they should be sure to document them with their doctor, as well as in notes or diaries of their own. The more proof the SSA can view in an application for Social Security Disability, the more likely they will be to quickly approve it.

Though there are really no proven Fibromyalgia diet, there are some steps you can take to help you feel better, and to help balance areas that might be out of whack in the body. These dietary changes certainly won’t cure this condition, but a person who take the time to modify their diet somewhat, and watches what they are eating (and what they are not eating) might find some relief. You should talk to your doctor about your diet and any plans you might have for modification. Here are ten handy tips to help you get started.

Watch your sugar intake. Those who cut down or eliminate sugars altogether often feel better. Don’t forget about the less obvious sources of sugar like high fructose corn syrup, which is the most troubling of all sugars, and is found in many sodas and some juices. If you drink juice, make sure it is 100% natural.

Limit caffeine. Though you may be feeling tired and think a jolt of caffeine will help you might be making your sleep issues worse. If you must have some, have it in the morning only, and have only a cup or two of coffee. Caffeine will exaggerate your sleeping difficulties, so watch for caffeine in any form and in things like chocolate and medications, especially when taken later in the day.

Got food allergies? If you are allergic to any type of food, you should eliminate it completely from your diet. One common problem is lactose intolerance. If this is a problem, you have to stop drinking milk and having milk products. Ask your doctor how to supplement vitamin D and calcium if this is something you must do. You need both of these nutrients for a healthy body.

Balance your meals. Though carbs will give you a burst of energy, they should not make up the majority of your eating plan. It is recommended that you have equal amounts of proteins and carbs each meal.

Eat smaller and more frequent meals. You may find that eating a smaller meal will help you feel better, and adding healthy snacks in between can help hold off hunger. Think of it as having five or six small meals a day rather than three large ones. This might help eliminate fatigue in some people.

Avoid preservatives. This is a tough one, but it can be done. You should avoid foods that have preservatives as they can be like toxins to the body. Instead, opt for fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats for the main staples of your diet. Don’t forget about dairy if it is okay for you to have it.

Stop drinking. Alcohol can make sleep patterns worse, and also harm the liver. Many think they sleep more heavily when they are drunk, but in reality, it is not the deep, restful sleep that someone with Fibromyalgia needs.

Ask about vitamin supplements. A lot of Fibromyalgia sufferers aren’t getting the vitamins they need. Vitamins are helpful to almost anyone, and they are a great way to make sure your body is running at it’s optimum. There may be reasons why your doctor does not want you to take them though, so be sure to talk with them about this first.

Be wary of artificial sweeteners. These can have the same toxic affect on the body as preservatives. Eliminate them if you can.

Avoid glutamates. These are something that are found in the red tomato, some potatoes, and certain peppers. They may not be a problem for you, but they can cause problems with muscle pains in some. If you eliminate these from your Fibromyalgia diet, you may find muscle pain diminishes.

Try keeping a food diary for a month and note down what you eat and how you feel. If you notice any patterns regarding certain foods and worsening symptoms work to eliminate that food from your Fibromyalgia diet.

Joint pain and fatigue are the common symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Nearly 3.7 million Americans are affected by the illness, most of who are women. Most people are ignorant of these symptoms and tend to ignore symptoms in patients as psychological complaints. Invariably the pain is real and is caused due to chronic neurological dysfunction. The symptoms can vary in different patients but the pain is usually the same.

Fibromyalgia causes pain in the joints and other parts of the body and is essentially a muscular pain in the joints. It can cause centralized pain in the spinal chord and brain, which can often be misinterpreted. The joints may feel inflamed and the skin – tender. Shooting pain experienced along with giddiness and memory fog. This muscular pain causes various other symptoms in the person.

Depression, fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, extreme mood swings, restless sleeping are some of the effects of Fibromyalgia.

The pain felt in Fibromyalgia is in specific points called trigger points. It can be the neck, spinal chord, upper back, knees, elbows, shoulders etc. The areas surrounding this pain can feel tender and sometimes a burning sensation.

Memory loss or memory fog is common in these patients and so are mood swings. Their stress levels can lead to disturbed sleep patterns and usually they are very sensitive to even the slightest touch, light and temperature variations. Migraines are a common complaint in these individuals.

Fibromyalgia is a condition appearing more in women than men and the reason for this is not certain. Diagnosing Fibromyalgia is difficult as the symptoms are varied. It can only be detected by the chronic and persistent pain in the joints and the relevant symptoms.

Women who suffer from Fibromyalgia have low levels of progesterone, which helps to balance the estrogen levels in women. This is one of the main reasons there are more women suffering than men. This deficiency can cause pelvic pain, pain during menstrual periods, diarrhea, headaches etc.

Progesterone creams can help reduce the pain to a certain extent in women. This can be applied in the parts where they feel the pain and can be taken orally as well which can help restore sleep in the patients. Learning to understand your body can help women cope better with the symptoms. The body should be kept warm in order to keep the muscles supple.

Eating a nutritious diet and regular exercises can help relive the pain make the patient progress towards a cure.

Reduce stress and tension with the help of family members as well as take to therapies and meditations to relax and de-stress. Stretching exercises can improve muscle function by warming them up. Acupuncture aimed at the painful spots, chiropractic therapy, massage therapy, naturopathy and magnetic therapy are some of the methods to find the right solution to the symptoms. In fact a combination of certain therapies along with prescribed medication works best in treatment of Fibromyalgia in women.

Joining counseling groups where you would find other women with similar symptoms can help share your problems and find a remedy. You will be able to share some of your experiences and get help from the other women as to how to go about coping with the symptoms.

Women need a lot of emotional support, which can be provided by the immediate family and friends. Taking the trouble to understand their symptoms can help you show compassion and respect their needs. Keeping abreast of the medical advancement in this field can also help. Helping these patients by developing a calm and peaceful home atmosphere can go a long way in helping them cope with the symptoms. Women tend to get more irritable due to the constant pain and become dysfunctional in every day routines. This might cause them to become depressed and cause further anxiety. Be accommodating and patient towards them, to help relieve some of the constant pain that they experience.

Specific therapy can have a very good effect on women and help them cope with the Fibromyalgia. Even though there is no specific cure for Fibromyalgia, persistence and determination can help you cope with the symptoms and find a cure to this chronic neurological disorder.

Fibromyalgia pain is real but the pain is even more real. It has been found that one’s emotions will play a part in the pain that the fibromyalgia sufferer may not be aware of. Many sufferers of fibromyalgia experience very severe pain in the upper part of the back.

Fibromyalgia pain can feel similar to the pain experienced by people with different types of arthritis. With the fibromyalgia syndrome, the significant swelling in the joints, as well as the destruction, and deformity seen in patients with the diseases like rheumatoid arthritis does not occur.

Fibromyalgia pain can be in any parts of the body such as the back and the pain changes in intensity. Fibromyalgia can be, and may be, associated with the sympathetic nervous system. This is the adrenaline-like nervous system that is intertwined with something we call the autonomic (or automatic) nervous system.

Studies have shown that chronic pain sufferers can reduce the severity of symptoms by adding a moderate workout regimen to their treatment. For people living with chronic pain, exercise is often the last thing they want to do. Studies have shown that fibromyalgia sufferers have experienced great relief of their pain through this technique.

Fibromyalgia has found to be of the most misunderstood conditions that affect the condition of the muscles. Research into the causes of fibromyalgia is an ongoing process at the time of writing.

We will look at three areas that may to reduce the fibromyalgia back pain and even in some cases eliminate it.

Fibromyalgia agony may feel ‘stabbing’ or ‘burning’ or ‘aching’ and can the discomfort experienced by folks with various sorts of arthritis. With fibromyalgia syndrome, the heavy joint swelling, eradication.

Monstrosity seen in patients with sicknesses like rheumatoid arthritis does not happen, which supports the source of poisons deposited in the tissue fibers.

1) The first area that you may wish to look at is heat therapy for your back pain. A hot shower can do wonders as it will relax the muscles. You may wish to incorporate this into your daily plan.

2) You have to ensure that your back is properly supported at all times. The simple reason is that if the muscles in your back are not strong and you have in addition none or little back support, then you have all the factors in place for the pain.

3) Third but not the least in these simple tips, that you must have a daily stretching exercise programme. The overall aim is to gently work ( I stress gently), and strengthen your muscles. Sufferers of fibromyalgia who have incorporated a daily exercise plan into their lifestyle have seen benefits in reducing fibromyalgia back pain..
