This is more versitile than it looks. It seems strong enough to sustain reasonable pressure while still being flexible. The points of contact are basic in adjustment options (three choices on each side for each ball). They are much like solid, rubber-like golf balls. After many severe injuries (a long list that includes permanent damage), I have purchased this and many other products over time with the hope for some relief.

Of everything I have found, this item is not only portable but seems to give the quickest and easiest relief to the ever-so-hard-to-please neck and shoulder areas. In addition, you don’t have to lay down to use it. I, personally, think that’s a very big deal. These areas have been my focus in utilizing this tool. I understand that it may be effective on other areas of the body as well.

The day after receiving this item with a few others (in my usage, it and the Body Back Buddy being those applicable to the muscles in the upper areas), I went to my chiropractor (as is frequent) and she said there was an “amazing” difference in upper back and neck muscles at that time – no huge swelling or really nasty, extrememly painful knots as always, and a backside upper rib that was very recently out was “co-operating.” She seemed shocked. She said said it felt like putty up there (truly almost unbelievable for me). She asked what I did (and in one night) to achieve those results. I brought this in to my appointment this morning (and mentioned the Body Back Buddy, which she was already aware of) and she said that she was going to order an AccuMassage today.

It took some patience and a lot of that evening to get used to the ways it can be used, the differences in angles, placements and pressure and such. I did not want to risk over-doing it, so I kept coming back to it frequently and carefully throughout the entire evening. It was quite an investment to get that degree of relief the night I received it (but the sleep alone was worth every minute). I believe that the Body Back Buddy has been great in combination with this, as that tool has specific points it works on, whereas this instrument is more of a focused area manipulation that seems to work exceptionally well (when the most beneficial specific placements are found). For that reason (the combination), I will do four stars as it had some help from the BBB in breaking up some major and specific pressure point problems to begin with.

I have owned, recommended and purchase as gifts for family and friends the AccuMassage Self Massage Tool since the mid 1990′s, it is an excellent tool that has provided me much relief.

I had a serious neck injury and suffered from so much pain. This tool increased the blood flow, increase my flexibility and provide relief from pain. I highly recommend it is also great on the thighs, calves, shoulders and knees.

This is an extremely effective massage tool for the neck and shoulders. Every swimmer should own one. Don’t let its strange looks scare you. If I had discovered it sooner, I would have included it in my book.

  4. I work as a table game dealer in a casino and my arms and shoulders hurt almost every day, not to mention my thighs and legs for standing almost the whole 8 hours at work. I have a Hitachi wand massager and the shiatsu neck and foot massagers that I use every now and then but they seem not to be enough. I am so happy that I came across this item at Amazon because it does a lot of relief to my muscles which I cannot find on my other massagers — enough pressure force to relieve pain. The product does what the description says and more depending on your creativity– arms, knuckles, shoulders, thighs, legs and back. And as a friendly reminder, all the parts should be screwed as tightly as possible and inspected before every use because mine accidentally snapped after using it every day for over a week. I emailed bodyback immediately, got a response the following day and the replacement arrived in due time. Amazing product/amazing customer service.

  5. Get it, get it, get it. And get an extra. I’m a massage therapist and gave mine away in the 90′s, thinking I could easily replace it. But I didn’t know what to call it and I never could find one. This is the hands down best self-care tool for tight neck and shoulder muscles. Fabulous.
